v A WOLTMAN water meter, also known as a WOLTMAN-type water meter, is a type of flow meter used for measuring the flow rate of water in large pipes. It is named after the German engineer Reinhard Woltman, who invented this type of meter in the early 20th century.
v The WOLTMAN water meter consists of a housing or body made of durable materials such as cast iron. Inside the housing, a rotor or turbine is mounted on a horizontal shaft. The rotor contains multiple blades or buckets that are evenly spaced around its circumference.
v They are commonly used in industrial, commercial, and municipal applications where accurate measurement of water flow is required. Examples include water distribution networks, irrigation systems, water treatment plants, and industrial processes.
